The UPSC civil services examination is globally renowned for its rigorous assessment of candidates’ knowledge, skills, and aptitude, representing a formidable challenge that many aspire to conquer. For countless aspirants, achieving success in this exam symbolizes the pinnacle of accomplishment, serving as a beacon of inspiration. Among those who have scaled this lofty summit is IPS officer Archit Chandak, whose journey has inspired many.

Archit, hailing from the tranquil locality of Shankar Nagar in Nagpur, Maharashtra, is the beloved only son of Virendra and Chhaya Chandak, esteemed directors of Nagpur Techno Marketing Pvt. Ltd. at MIDC Hingna. His academic journey began at Bhavan’s BP Vidya Mandir, laying the groundwork for his future endeavors. Subsequently, he distinguished himself by securing a coveted spot at IIT Delhi, emerging as the city topper in the 2012 JEE examination. His pursuit of excellence led to a degree in mechanical engineering from this prestigious institution.

Despite tempting offers from the corporate sector, including a lucrative Rs 35 lakh package from a Japanese firm during his internship, Archit remained steadfast in his resolve to serve the nation through governance. Thus, foregoing the allure of corporate comforts, he embarked on the challenging path of UPSC preparation immediately after completing his Bachelor’s degree in 2016.

In 2018, Archit made his maiden attempt at the UPSC examinations, achieving an enviable All-India Rank (AIR) of 184. His journey began as the station house officer at Bazarpeth police station in Bhusawal, Maharashtra, eventually leading to his appointment as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Nagpur.

A key factor in Archit’s journey to success has been his disciplined adherence to an organized study regimen and revisions. He advocates for a systematic approach, sequentially delving into various subjects to ensure a comprehensive understanding without succumbing to disillusionment. Stressing the importance of using high-quality study materials, he emphasizes the need for regular self-assessment to accurately gauge progress.

Beyond academia and public service, Archit is a multifaceted individual with diverse interests. An avid chess enthusiast with a FIDE rating of 1,820, he finds solace and stimulation in the game’s intricate maneuvers. Additionally, his commitment to physical well-being is evident in his participation in the challenging 42-kilometer Mumbai Marathon, showcasing his indomitable spirit.

Active in the digital realm, Archit maintains a strong presence on social media platforms, offering insights into his daily life and professional endeavors. With a substantial following on Instagram, he leverages this platform to inspire, educate, and engage with his audience. Furthermore, his personal life intertwines with his professional journey, as he is happily married to IAS officer Saumya Sharma, his UPSC classmate, who currently serves as the CEO of Zilla Parishad Nagpur, exemplifying partnership and shared aspirations.
