If you’ve been aiming to succeed in the UPSC Civil Service Examinations, now is your opportunity, as the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially opened registrations for CSE Prelims 2024 on its website upsconline.nic.in. In a notification released today, the commission invites aspiring UPSC candidates to apply for the examinations, provided they fulfill all eligibility requirements before March 5, 2024, at 6 pm.

The commission aims to fill 1,056 vacancies through these examinations. Aspiring candidates often have various questions regarding the admission process, eligibility criteria, important dates, and vacancy details. APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
To begin the application process, visit the website upsconline.nic.in. Applicants must register on the One Time Registration (OTR) platform on the Commission’s website before proceeding with the online application. If already registered, candidates can directly fill out the application form.

Modifications to the OTR profile are permitted only once after registration. Changes to the profile data can be made within 7 days after the closure of the application window.

Candidates can also make modifications to the application form after submission. The Commission has extended the correction window for the CSE 2024 examination from the day after the application window closes until March 12, 2024.

Once submitted, applications cannot be withdrawn.

Documents required for application include details of a State/Central government-issued Photo ID Card (such as Aadhaar Card, Voter Card, PAN Card, Passport, or Driving Licence). This Photo ID Card will be used for all future reference and candidates are advised to carry it while appearing for the Examination/Personality Test.

PHOTOGRAPH REQUIREMENTS:
The uploaded photograph must not be more than 10 days old at the start of the online application process.
The candidate’s name and the date on which the photograph was taken should be clearly mentioned.
The candidate’s face should occupy 3/4th of the space in the photograph.
Candidates must ensure that their appearance matches their photograph at each stage of the Examination Process – Preliminary, Main, and Interview/Personality Test.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Nationality: For IAS, IFS, and IPS – Citizen of India. For other posts, candidates must be Indian citizens, subjects of Nepal, subjects of Bhutan, Tibetan refugees who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling, or persons of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India. A certificate of eligibility must be issued by the Government of India.
Age Limits: Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have exceeded 32 years as of August 1, 2024.
Upper Age Limit Relaxations: OBC – 3 years, SC/ST – 5 years, PWBD – 10 years.
Number of Attempts: General – 6, OBC – 9, SC/ST – unlimited, PWBD – 9.
Educational Qualifications: A graduate degree from a recognized university or equivalent qualification.

APPLICATION FEE: Candidates need to pay a fee of Rs. 100 either by cash at any State Bank of India branch, using Net Banking of any bank, or through Master/RuPay/Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment facilities.

Female/SC/ST/Persons with Benchmark Disability Candidates are exempt from the application fee.
